Wordnet is interesting. But I never found it appealing.
Today I discovered Freebase. You can run queries that you can not run with Google.
- Like Female CEOs of public companies in order of Market Cap
- or Films starring Jennifer Connelly and actors who have appeared in Steven Spielberg movies
- last one: Web browsers that run on Mac OS X
I wrote a little Ruby class that searches this base.
I can run queries like: "What is Toulouse" and get answers like /common/topic, /location/location, /location/citytown, /location/dated_location, /location/statistical_region, /music/track
More to come !
